Education

Parenting Classes

We offer the following educational training opportunities and classes so women and men feel empowered in their journey into parenthood. Many women choose abortion because they feel overwhelmed and lack the relational and educational support they need to be mothers. Our educational classes and mentoring programs are designed so they can feel confident in their decision to parent.

Indiana Safe Sleep Program

The Hope Clinic partners with the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH)  to bring safe sleep environments to Indiana babies. Mothers can access free resources and education about safe sleep, as well as earn a free pack-n-play by attending a 30-minute training session at one of our offices.

Family Mentoring

Women and/or their partner can meet one-on-one or in a small group setting with a client advocate to discuss relevant family or life skills topics. Our mom’s mentor group teaches women to share their love, faith, and values with their children. Our mentors make themselves available for calls or text most any hour of any day to provide emotional and spiritual support as their client battles through life’s challenges and temptations. They are there to teach, but often just to listen and coach.

Life Skills Classes

We offer a variety of classes throughout the year to teach and practice different life skills with our clients. Some examples of classes offered include Reading with my Child Class, Nutrition Classes and Budgeting Classes.

Baby Bucks Program

The Baby Bucks Program provides material assistance for a pregnant mother or parent of young children once they are enrolled. The mother and/or father can provide the necessary materials for their baby by engaging in a variety of personal enrichment opportunities. Ways to earn Baby Bucks include watching educational videos and discussing them with an advocate, attending parenting classes, reading pamphlets and writing a reflection, and completing GED classes or high school and college classes. Each time they complete a requirement, they will earn Baby Bucks to redeem for baby items.

To participate in the Baby Bucks program, a new or expectant parent needs to be enrolled as a client at The Hope Clinic. All activities must be their own work which can be completed either at home or the clinic.

Diaper Assistance

To participate, a parent may redeem one Baby Buck for each pack of diapers and wipes. They can purchase one pack per week, per child.

Boutique Items

Large Items

A mother and/or father may redeem Baby Bucks for only one of each of the following items for their household (once per child) during the six weeks before her due date, or any time after the baby is born: crib, mattress, car seat, high chair, pack-n-play, furniture, etc. (items available may vary).

Regular Items

Each client may redeem Baby Bucks on any available item in our Baby Bucks boutique.

“Free” Items

“Free” means the client does not have to earn Baby Bucks for these items. If he or she has a need, they may come in and take what their baby needs. These items include formula, baby food, and other available items. We also offer gently used baby/toddler clothes and maternity clothes.
